Q: can anyone please explain to me thoroughly how phone cards work? i'm planning on buying a cell phone but would rather use a phone card for it. problem is i dont know how they work. is the phone activated and on all the time and can u send and recieve text messages just the same as a phone without a prepaid phone card? anyone with previous experience or knowledge, please help me out!

A: I have a prepaid phone and it works great. What you do is buy a phone card then call a number or go online to activate it. Now that you have the money on your account, you can text/pix message just like a regular plan. Its pretty much the same except you will have phone cards instead of signing a contract and paying monthly. The card keeps your account active for a certain period of time and then you have to get another. If you have any questions about different companies or anything prepaid just email me at baseballsammy5@aim.com. I hope this helps and let me know if you need more info or a website to go to. :-)

Best phone cards to be used when calling the Philippines from the states?

OSZ for INQ Mini

I am having problems finding reliable cheap phone cards to call my friends in the Philippines, they either rip me off on minutes or the connection quality is poor. Any one know of good cards or web sites to purchase cards?

You can try epinoypinay. Gave me a clear connection and longer talk time when I used it (while I was in Long Beach, CA). Clarity of connection may also depend on the time you make the call.

When my own Cingular contract was complete, I bought prepaid phone cards for my Nokia phone. Now that my friend's Cingular contract is complete, how can I use her old LG G4015 phone with prepaid phone cards, considering that she transfered her phone number to her new phone? Will this involve SIM cards?

Call Cingular and they will walk you through the process. If its a pay as you go type arrangement they will issue you a set of codes. Or at least thats the way it works with Tracfone.

How do the minutes work on international phone cards?

How do the minutes work on international phone cards?
Was wondering if anyone knows much about the international phone cards. It says 143 minutes but I was only allowed to talk for 7 min? I dont understand that. This was my first time using it so kind of confused.

You buy a phone card (eg. $5), and there is a specific rate for that specific phone card and a specific rate for every country/minute. For example, if you buy this $5 card and you're calling to Brazil and the rate is 1cent/minute, you can talk on that card for 500 minutes because there is $5.

Some phone cards have extra start-up fees, etc. when you first use your phone card.

Most of the time, if you don't use your phone cards in the period (eg. 6 months) after your first activiation of the card, it will expire and the card will be useless after that 6 months.
