Q: I am looking for a phone to put my SIM card in? My old phone is broke and I was just going to by an old used phone. Will the SIM card fit into any Cingular phone? I dont know much about this. So if any one could help that would be great!
A: You need only a GSM (global system for Mobile communication) phone.
The only gsm networks in US are Cingular/AT&T and T-mobile.
Cellphones from these carriers would be compatible with your SIM card.
Stay away from CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access)
Verizon,Virgen mobile and Sprint phones. They are incompatible with GSM sim cards.
You just have to buy a GSM phone from whereever you want to or you can buy from AT&T.
I have a cingular account and want to cancel it, is the cancellation fee for all the phones (175.00 per phone) or for just the 1 account? Thanks for any and all help with this.

IPhone service provider AT&T plans to test ways to get the company’s heaviest network traffic hogs to stop spending all waking hours choking AT&T’s pipes with their unlimited-access phones. But there’ll be no draconian usage limits or surprise fees.
Ralph de la Vega, who runs the wireless and consumer arms of the company, spoke to attendees and reporters at a conference in New York held by financial services giant UBS. He said Dallas-based AT&T would offer “incentives,” rather than punishment, to get the top users to back down on their data use.
The top three percent are responsible for 40 percent of the data traveling through AT&T’s network, said De la Vega. “What we actually found out is customers didn’t know how they were using data,” he told the Wall Street Journal. “But once you alerted them to it, they actually reduce their consumption significantly.”
I will be traveling to Prague over the summer and would like to know whether my Cingular cell phone will have service. If it will not, are there any other types of cell phones that would have coverage (I could borrow a family member's phone)?

I need a new cell phone that can take a beating and keep on working. It needs to have bluetooth and a camera and any other features would be great. It must work with at&t (cingular). I've heard there are some phones that are waterproof and impact resistant. I really like Nokia phones more than anything but I'm open to suggestions.
