Rather than using this, Acer has decided to give a bit more performance in this price range with an Intel Core i5-2450M dual core processor with the Aspire AS5750-6414. While it might not seem like a big difference, it can mean a lot of time savings for anyone that needs a low cost system for more demanding tasks such as video editing. It still comes equipped with just 4GB of DDR3 memory which is typical of this price range which will likely impact those demanding programs a bit more.

Storage features on the Acer Aspire AS5750-6414 are common of low cost laptops. A standard 500GB hard drive provides a good deal of storage space but it does spin at the more traditional 5400rpm rate which gives it modest performance compared to more expensive options. It still comes equipped with a dual layer DVD burner for handling playback and recording of CD or DVD media. What is disappointing is the same old chassis design that has been used by Acer for several years now and its limited port options. There are three USB ports on it but they are of the older USB 2.0 variety rather than the newer USB 3.0 .
