A: Okay, I can help. I have a TI 84 Plus SE, and I've been through the agonizing process of understanding how to use it.
However, you can get some help with it without going to teachers or classmates.
I'll show you step by step:
1. How to see what apps you've got: http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/productDetail/us_ti84pse.html?bid=3 lists the preloaded applications and the ones you can download. You can compare it the apps on your calculator.
2. You use a transfer software to get them on the calculator. The preferred one is TI Connect. It's on a disc that came with the calculator, but you can download it online at http://education.ti.com/educationportal/appsdelivery/download/download_interim.jsp?applicationId=183&contentPaneId=7 . Choose a language, and you're set! After you install it, use the TI SendTo Application to transfer the stuff you want to download.
3. As for getting to know the calculator, there isn't...
I need a new graphing calculator for college, what is the best graphing calculator out there that has many cool features and that has that cable that goes to your computer.
Hey, I need some help. I'm going to buy a graphing calculator for school tomorrow and I have narrowed it down to 2 options. The TI-83 Plus and the TI-84 Plus. Here are the things I want in a calc:
Speed
Well Known (in case I need help with anything)
Good apps have been made for it
Memory
Ease of use
Easy to transfer files (apps) from my Mac to the calc
Bang for the buck
Thanks
The slide rules have turned into high-powered graphic calculators, and the stopwatches have turned into adaptable computer programs. Teachers no longer just lecture at the front of the class; they stream videos, use interactive computer programs and receive immediate feedback from students.
Lisa Melton, elementary learning coach for six Lawrence schools, says when she started teaching 24 years ago, the teacher was the main source of information for elementary students.
“Right now, kids are bombarded with fast-moving, graphic-rich images, and they have the information at their fingertips,” she says. “Many of them even have the Internet on their cell phones.”
Technology has enhanced a teacher’s ability to engage students in several different methods. Melton says teachers can use video streaming to give students a virtual tour of Egyptian ruins or an interactive lesson plan from another teacher 1,000 miles away. She also says teachers are starting to use handheld clickers so all students have a chance to answer questions with immediate feedback instead of waiting on one student to raise a hand.
What is the best model graphing calculator to buy and why? Also, what is the purpose of the cable that comes with it? I need one for a precalculus algebra class and later another more advanced calculus class.
I am in the middle of a correspondence course and i need a graphing calculator. They are too expensive to buy, and the Graphmatica one I downloaded is confusing. I can't figure out how to input the equation. Please help!
