I need help from fashion experts, Please!!

I need to get a new black purse and I want it to be a designer purse. I would like to spend between $150 - $200. I never buy fakes. I rarely carry a black purse so that is why I’m not willing to spend too much for this one. My problem is, I know I could get a small Coach or Dooney & Bourke, but I don’t want to. I am tired of Coach although they are pretty (most of my friends have black Coach purses) and I don’t care for the look of the new Dooneys. Does anyone have any suggestions? I usually spend between $500 and $1000 on purses but I want to shop smart when I buy black purses from now on since I know I’ll only carry it about once a week, and not even that much once Spring arrives.

Kate Spade has some nice things, you should be able to get a basic black bag for around that cost. Go to your favorite department store and cruise the racks...there are some good, lesser-known designer brands that are durable and very nice.

I buy most of my "designer" bags (Coach is my favorite) on Ebay but make sure to do your research so you get an authentic item. Ebay has a lot of fakes, but there are also LOTS of authentic items too!

The first poster noted to try Chanel....but I doubt you could get a new one for that price unless you got lucky.

PS: A friend gave me a HOBO International bag bought at Parisian (Dept store) a few years ago. Retail was about $150 but it's a black leather medium-sized tote bag with red interior....very nice. I used it about every day for a while there, it was my favorite. It's held up well over the years considering how much I used it. This one was given to me, but I'd definitely buy...

I would say "Good for her, she's being who she wants to be!" If you love the Coach, wear it, no matter what other people think, or if you think it's different then what you usually wear. Sometimes I think, "Whoa, I'd never wear this", but love it to death, and get it anyway!
