Q: Ok so im trying to get into the whole PC gaming scene but I want to know what kind of computer is good for games?? Now, I dont want to play much of those big graphic games just games like World Of warcraft and games like that. Whats a good computer for games and home use?? For home use all I really need to do on that is browse the internet and small things like that. Thanks.
A: You will want a computer with these specs
2.6 GHz or faster
512 MB Ram or higher
128 MB video card or higher
30 GB or more hard drive space.
This will make sure that your computer can handle the lastest programs that require lots of computer resources.
I'm going to upgrade the newer dual cores processor called AMD Opteron 185 2.6GHZ for my gaming computer.
My currently gaming computer's specification
Operating Software: Windows XP Professional (Installed with SP2)
Motherboard: Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Processor : AMD Athlon 64 3200 2.0Ghz (Overclocked 2.2Ghz)
Memory: 1 GB Consair Twinx XMS 3200C2 DDR3
Graphic Card: 2X EVGA Nvidia Geforce 6800 GS 256MB GDDR3 PCI-Express on SLI (When SLI enabled, 512MB of video memory)
Hard Drive: 2X Maxtor DiamondMax 7200RPM 8MB Cache SATA (one for Windows XP Professional Software and other one is for paging file)
When I upgrade AMD Opteron 185 instead the old one (AMD Athlon 64 3200) Do you think my computer can play faster on high-end games like S.T.A.L.K.E.R , FSX, Gothic 3, Oblivion, or other high-end games on very high-quality setting?
My graphic card can overclock from 425Mhz to between 500-550Mhz and Memory 1Ghz...

The night's most memorable moment belonged to 25 time Grammy® Award winner Stevie Wonder, who was on hand to present The Beatles: Rock Band as Best Music Game of 2009. After being welcomed to the stage by a three minute standing ovation from the adoring crowd, the icon challenged the gaming industry to create video games specifically designed for those with disabilities.
I really want a computer for gaming, but I don't understand the difference between computers. I went looking at a couple of places but the guys try to get my to buy the most expensive ones for more than 1000. Is it neccesary to spend that much for a good gaming computer? When I'm looking for a computer what should I be looking for? I really don't care what brand it is either.
I know that their are several components to a good gaming computer, but what are the important things that I need first. I am building a computer from scratch, and I'm not sure if I need to start with a really good motherboard, or lots of memory or what.
