Returning a 2nd Generation 8GB iPod Touch and buying a bigger one?

Q: So I have a used 8GB iPod Touch 2nd Generation I bought on Black Friday '08. However, I'm starting to run out of space. Is there a way I can return it to Apple and buy a bigger one? I can't really return it to the store I bought it from (Circuit City) because they're closing down. Is there a way I can maneuver through the warranty the iPod comes with to get a full refund out of it?

A: I would say you won't be able to return it. Warranty only covers defects in the product that aren't the result of user modification. Because having not enough memory is not a defect, I would say you won't be able to return it. But hey, who knows, it's worth a try. If it doesn't work, you could always sell it on eBay and then save up the remainder and buy a bigger one?

How many games/apps can i store on an iPod Touch 8GB 2nd Generation?

If on an Ipod i only stored 125 songs, 2 movies, 16 episodes of TV shoes and 8 photos about how many games or apps could i store?

i dont think u r gonna have all that much space for all that u cant have 18 tv episodes on an ipod 8gb and 2 movies. there just isnt enough space

Review: iPod Touch 8GB 2nd Generation

After unbox the iPod Touch 2nd Gen excitedly, I start transfer all data over from old iPod. Basically, the 2nd Gen almost same with 1st Gen. Of course it is better than its predecessor. Other wise nobody will buy it.

What’s new in iPod TOuch 2nd Gen? Main different is build-in speaker. But sad to say that the speaker is under expectation. The sound come out from ear phone jack hole, no dedicated speaker. Sound quality is soft and no surround. Anyway, it is better than no speaker.

Other than that, the sleek stainless steel design make it more stylist. The stainless steel cover up to front cover edge. Its curved design feel better on hand, like an iPhone 3G.

Another noticeable enhancement is the performance. I’m not sure the processor chipset use in 2nd gen. But can feel it load application faster.

Apple claim iPod 2nd gen to have longer battery hour (36 hours Audio music, and 6 hours video). I didn’t really count on it, but it definitely improve. At least I don’t recharge my iPod everyday now.

The latest iPod touch firmware offers built-in wireless support for Nike + iPod too. I’m not a sporter, didn’t utilize it. Last but not least, this 2nd gen selling at cheaper price compare to 1st gen (althought I don’t care, because I got it Free).

My two cents

Other than the lousy speaker quality, I have nothing to complaint iPod Touch 2nd Gen.

I just curious why iPod 2nd Gen still using White color ear buds. Why Apple don’t hear to us? We want black ear bud harmonious with iPod Touch in black.

I don’t know QuickPwn still no support iPod Touch until I try to jailbreak it. QuickPwn so far available for iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G, iPod TOuch 1G, but NOT iPod Touch 2G. Too bad. Still no auto jailbreak method. Either do it manually which is quite risky. Or wait for the next jailbreak release. I’m still waiting for the new release, code named “redsn0w“.

What Apple's Lala Acquisition May Mean for itunes PC World

Usic applications for iPhone and iPod Touch, left questions if Apple would join the streaming bandwagon.

Apple Spokesman Steve Dowling told the New York Times that Apple generally doesn't sharing its purpose or plans when purchasing a small tech company -- but that doesn't mean we can't make a wish list for what we want out of the deal.

1. Cheaper Prices and Streaming Options

Obviously there isn't much forcing Apple to reconsider how it charges for MP3s, but a drop in prices or streaming options would be a welcome addition to iTunes.

Lala's claim to fame is a streaming song for a dime or a Web album for a dollar. Let's face it, with more and more iTunes users toting around iPhones and iPod Touches with less storage space, more Apps and 3G or WiFi connections, streaming music might be a viable model for the future of iTunes.

In 2008 Steve Jobs famously called Blu-Ray a " bag of hurt " partially because of its complex technology licenses and consumers lack of support for the HD disc at the time. Apple embraced HD streaming options on the Apple TV and iTunes; why not extend to streaming music?

I want an ipod that i can easily jailbreak but one with internal speakers. I hear that the 2nd gen is very nice but the 1st gen is the only one that is compatible with jailbreaking.
The reason i want to be able to jailbreak is because i want to trick my friends into thinking i have the iphone. My current ipod already does and is doing that.

Just keep yours, the 2G's not much better. The jailbreaking is cool, and it's just not worth buying a new ipod for crappy speakers. Just get some external ones.
