when i tried playing a regular dvd it looked blurry so i was wondering if it is meant for blue ray dvds

I couldn't find out whether the USB 2.0 external superdrive that costs 100$ USD is compatible with other pcs and non-mac computers. It seems like good buy as an external cd drive b/c its slim and relatively inexpensive. But i'm asking because knowing apple there could be a catch.

Unless your a pretty smart geek it wont work. Mac hardware and even software is so proprietary that they spend more money on protecting there products from hacks, mods, ect. than on the design of the product itself

It will not. Apple bumped the power in the MBA USB port so it can power the external drive without an external power adapter but this makes it incompatible with all but the MBA's USB port.

That you're even asking about hubs leads me to believe that your MBA will spend a significant amount of time on a desk or near a pile of external peripherals. If this is the case, the MBA is not for you. If your primary use of this machine is as a LAPTOP, or you spend most of your week on airplanes and in hotels, then the MBA might be a good companion. Otherwise, it's shortcomings make it an unwise choice for a primary machine. It would work best when used as a portable workstation when you're not at your primary workstation.

Sorry. I'm just not buying the whole MBA thing. I guess I just don't get it. It's only slightly lighter than the MBP. Why have you ruled that out?
