Q: My Dell Trinitron monitor for my computer (about 8 years old) periodically makes a high pitched sound. If you adjust the monitor (up or down) the noise will stop. What causes this? Can it be fixed?
A: That sound is probably a capacitor or a transistor leaking voltage to ground. It will get worse until the monitor quits working.
Monitors are expensive to work on and they can be very dangerous also. There is a transformer (flyback) and a capacitor circuit that can hold a static charge for months (or longer), and still deliver enough shock to kill you. There are also hazardous materials in side that are just plain bad (phospohorus for one). Most monitors, for that reason should be treated like a light bulb. Use it till it blows, then replace it.
ok everytime it sits for a while it goes to like a screen saver and the light on it blinks cuz its resting or whatever but then if u wanna go back to what u were doin u move the mouse or press and button on the keyboard. and the last 2 days everytime i got to press a button to turn it back on or whatever it still stays black and doesnt go back it makes me mad! and then i turn the monitor off and then on and then it says like ...self test, monitor is fine or whatever and right across them it says like r or b i press everybutton and it still keeps flashing and the only way i get it to work is if i turn off the power to the whole computer and switch it back on and its earitating me
! how can i fix this
An organization representing the grandest ambitions of climate scientists wants Western nations to spend at least $2.1 billion a year for the next five years — and as much as $60 billion overall during that period — to glean huge troves of still undiscovered climate information from the world's land, air and seas.
The information system aims to measure literally everything environmental, from the full amount of plant leaf material in the world's ecosystems to the differences in saltiness throughout the world's oceans to the discharge from every one of the world's major rivers, to the monitoring of water vapor and cloud distribution throughout the earth's atmosphere.
This immense store of information is urgently needed to gain a true picture of the vastly complicated climatic and environmental interactions of the planet, according to a draft version of an update report on the huge project, known as the Global Observing System for Climate, which is not expected to be finalized until April 2010. And according to the report's authors, the information to be gathered is too valuable to be left to any single nation.
My computer monitor brightness has reduced.First i thought my monitor has some pblms. But when i connect with TV tuner card, my monitor work perfectly.I want to know is there anything in CPU which affect monitor's brightness?Very less bright when i switch on computer but no pblm when i watch TV in monitor. Why it happens? Can anyone tell me?Thank You for reading my question.
I want a second computer monitor to go along with my main PC so that i can multi-task. S-Video and coax for regular TV are necessities. Any recommendations?
