Lcd Monitor 22
Q: Right now i have a Dell 17" lcd monitor and was wanting a 22" Dell lcd monitor.I only use my computer for about 3 hours a day.Can you give me the pros and cons to buy one or not to buy one.I'm not really a computer genius but i would like to know if i would really benifit from a larger monitor.Thanks
If it means anything i am using a Radeon x300 graphics.
A: you will have a much larger viewing area than a 17 inch, MUCH MUCH MUCH. you iell be able to fit more programs/windows on one screen. if it was me id go for it cuse i just like bigger monitors, and i was in ur position once (or a similar one) and i went for it and was very happy i did. but if you want to save your money, dont get one or wait for a good deal, like i got mine for $200 at bestbuy :). make sure it has at least a 5 ms response time, dvi and vga input, and anything above a 700:1 contrast ratio. and thats its not some cheap brand, get one made by someone like westinghouse, LG, samsung, etc.. not some office depot only brand.
p.s.
if you get this monitor gaming performance (if you game) will be greatly decreased, expecially with that graphics card.
My 22" LCD monitor suggests i use a 1920 x 1080 resolution for best results. but i notice even 1280 x 768 is not bad. but i don't have the option of setting the resolution to 1920 x 1080. is that due to a bad graphic card maybe ?? thanks

Panel makers are using LED backlights in mainstream monitor sizes. Although LED backlight penetration in monitor panels was only 1.4% in Q3 09, current panel maker plans indicate that the penetration could reach 22% in Q3 10, assuming adoption by brands.
According to DisplaySearch's latest Quarterly LED & CCFL Backlight Report, InnoLux was the leading supplier of LED backlit monitor panels in Q3 09, with 34.4% of unit shipments. Other panel makers producing such panels include LG Display, AUO, Samsung and CMO. Brands like Samsung, Dell, LG, Acer, Lenovo, BenQ and AOC began launching LED backlit LCD monitors ranging from 18.5" to 24" in Q3 09.

Is there a way I can make the picture stretch out and fit the screen better while keeping my resolution set at the high at 1680 X 1050 pixels? I would like a good clear picture rather than the blurry one I get when I go to a lower setting. Thanks for your help.
