Whats the difference between psp fat, psp slim and psp slim lite and which is the best which psp should i buy?

@ Rab1d-BDGR...since when was 720p "very low-res"? I'm not sure what you're playing, but as someone pointed many games are 720p. Most tv stations don't broadcast in 720p. About the only people who play games consistently above that resolution are people playing PC games who spend wayyy more than a console costs, and don't typically do much else with the computer except game (ie nothing extremely productive, I realize gaming has its benefits). Outside of that, most (all that i've seen) 720p equipment also does 1080i. The human eye can't even distinguish between 1080i and 1080p after a certain size Istance ratio is exceeded, which don't take very much to exceed. The ability of the eye to see 1080p A person's ability to distinguish small details is described by visual acuity. When individual pixels are barely resolvable, increased resolution brings little benefit for the viewer unless the viewing distance can be shortened or the display enlarged. Thus for 1080p television viewing, there is a minimum size to distance ratio to see a significant benefit. The ability of the eye to resolve 1080p content also depends on the amount of contrast in the picture. For optimum viewing, it is recommended to sit at a distance of approximately three times the diagonal measurement of the screen. So whatever you're doing, it must be 4K if you're calling 720p "very low res".

I just want to know the advantages of the slim over the regular psp. like is the slim compatible with the same homebrew as the regular, and are there any known hardware problems with either of them (such as buttons not working over time). also, is there a big difference in cost, and where would be the cheapest place to get one (ebay?) Also, i heard this rumor about something called the PSP Shred, which is an upgraded psp with a touchscreen. Does anyone else know anything about that? Thanks for your help!

Slim has umd cache for reduced power usage, can be conected to tv thru the use of component or av cables (componet=games//av= no games) fragile to an extent, but more durable than the phat. in all ways is an upgrade


Phat is beter for the hacked features and long battery life (can add stamina batery for up to 8 to 10 hours mp3 usage- 4 hours gameplay)

by all means get the slim if you want to have upgraded version, for hackable features choose the phat.

phat and slim are almost the same price but limited edition psp slim is 199.99. slim is too new for hardware problems, but as the owner of 7 phat and 4 slims ill tell you this. umd reader not very good lasts around 5,000 hours to 10,000 hours on phat and buttons might get stuck after a while; but this cant be helped if you are a hardcore gamer. i hope this helps :)

Iem palning to trade my fat custom firmware psp for a psp slim with offical firmware.So i got a pandora battery that i hard modded to downgrade fat psp does it work on the psp slim with the same magic memory stick files.

yes it will work for any PSP slim or fat...it's well worth it, but the slim can't use anything that needs the 1.50 kernal add on, because sony tried to stop hackers cracking the system...but still allows you to play downloaded games and other homebrew...have fun
