I have an old franklin stove that the "heat shield" is damaged, so much that it could allow the flames into the pipe. is there a fix and how?
when I say heat shield I mean a thin piece of sheet metal inside just below the opening
A: yes, it should be repairable, the old heat shield should be bolted in, if not, you could make a new shield w/brackets for bolting and drill holes in the stove to attach it with stove bolts, i'd use 1/4-20 bolts and 3/16" or 1/4" steel, depending
