I'm curious. Is there another ship date for Nintendo Wii console before Christmas in Northeastern Ohio or is the only way to get one on ebay.

Thrust 'Xenoblade' to fore

“Xenoblade” looks old-fashioned, like a game for PlayStation 2, but if you get past the graphics, you’ll find one of the better role--playing games of this generation. It’s not particularly innovative, but it’s an assured and uncommonly mature example of one of the more hidebound genres in gaming.

Voice acting has a deservedly bad reputation in games, especially Japanese role-playing games. The acting in “Xenoblade” isn’t just passable but one of the game’s greater strengths. Instead of the cartoonish, overly emotive voices that are so common to localized JRPGs, “Xeno-blade” features impressive performances from British actors. By avoiding stereotypical voices, “Xenoblade” immediately stands out. You actually won’t mind sitting through most cut-scenes.

Most other genre traits appear in force. The lead is an unconfident and unusually sensitive teenager with spiky hair. He leads a party on an epic journey in a world divided by an eternal struggle between humans and machines. Combat is in real-time, with a variety of melee strikes and vaguely magical attacks that can be chained together, and enemy-specific defenses that occasionally need to be overcome through a bit of light strategy. Its complexities will keep your thumbs on edge. Of course, your characters’ stats can be improved by equipping them with better weapons and armor, which can be found on your travels or purchased in the towns you’ll visit.
