FAQ: Original Xbox

FAQ Okay, so the original xbox console has been out for a few years and I was thinking of getting one. They are way cheaper then Xbox 360, and people say that Xbox 360 is cheaply made. But...how long do you think that original xbox games will be available and easy to find? I'm just worried that original xbox games will rapidly die out all of a sudden like with Gameboy Advance. That would just suck.

A: I would like to tell you that the original xbox will still have great games available anywhere but im sorry to say i can't. Most of the xbox games have died out already and the only ones left are only the greatest hits like halo, halo 2 and many others like crash bandicoot. You will have hard times even now trying to find new xbox games. The only place you still might have a chance is buying terribly used games sold at gamestop.com or retail stores that are for about $5 a disk. It is your choice, buy a xbox 360 arcade for more or buy an original xbox just for the heck of it.

Assassin's Creed II game improves on original San Francisco Chronicle

Calling Assassin's Creed II this year's most improved sequel sounds like a backhanded compliment, but it's high praise for an expansive title that finally lives up to the ambition of its predecessor. The game not only better incorporates platforming, stealth and combat into an open-world model, it also wraps these elements around a backstory that lets us care about who we're killing and why.

Gone is the rigid structure that made the first game a chore of seeking out arbitrary targets. Missions are now driven by the motivations of a young carouser avenging his family's downfall in Renaissance-era Italy (four centuries after the first game), and the objectives are varied and multi-tiered. To clear layers of protection around a target, it may be necessary to first hire courtesans as a distraction or mercenaries for a fight. The goal of escorting your mother and sister out of Florence is revisited in Venice with an active bent as you race along docks to protect a gondola from archers.
