Q: does anyone know if the new zune has an option for music videos and tv shows like the ipod?
A: I've had my Zune 120GB for a full month now and I think it's a great product. I highly recommend this device.
The Zune does indeed support video playback, and an optional accessory cable allows you to play back stored content on a regular television.
Unless you're a fan of Apple's iTunes download service, I'd recommend steering away from iPods. Microsoft offers a similar service with their Zune Marketplace, which I also use. If you'd prefer to use Napster or (my other recommendation) Rhapsody, go with a Sansa player. Creative also makes great players with their Zen series, but to my knowledge Creative's players aren't supported by download services.
As with iPods and iTunes, the Zune requires the installation and use of the proprietary Zune software. It's exclusive to Windows platforms, so don't get a Zune if you only have a Mac.
The Zune also plays games (written in MS XNA) and has wireless connectivity and syncing.

I purchased a 120Gb Zune in November and downloaded The Zune Maketplace bacause of the ease of use. They advertise unlimited downloads for a monthly price which I have no problem with but, I tried to download music today and now I have to purchase. It only gives me the option to buy for 79 instead of just download. What is going on?
